Open Door is a two-level, activity-based course for young children with little or no experience of English. The course balances the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking using a variety of activities.
Each unit on the cassette is divided into two sections, consisting of modelled examples and also examples of teacher-student interaction using the target language. The teacher's book complements this, having detailed lesson plans and descriptions of many of the games and methods that are suitable for use with classes of different sizes. The accompanying cassette can be used by the teacher in the classroom or by the children at home.
Each level of the course provides 20 hours of study in the classroom and can be used on its own, or as an enjoyable and effective supplement to any English program for children.
